The British Carp Angling Championships 2007 got underway this week with the first elimination rounds taking place at Ecton Lake and Farlows Lake.
Ecton proved to be really tough, with only a few fish troubing the marshalls. Finally coming out on top were Shaun McSpadden and Scott Day with a common of 22lb 12oz.

The Wales Carp Masters tournament has just been announced. This is a new carp fishing competition that is said to be as big as the British Carp Angling Championships (BCAC), with a top prize of £10,001, as well as free entry into the 2008 World Carp Classic. Geezer’s Charity Event is to be held on a virgin 22 acre Essex Lake this year on 31st - 2nd September 2007. The lake is stocked with over 300 carp, so there will be plenty for everyone! Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish and the overall weight

Brooklands (Dartford Lakes) is to stage a qualifying round of the British Carp Angling Championship (BCAC).
The BCAC is the major carp angling competition in the country and is sponsored by a number of the discipline’s big names (as well as Sky Sports, who also televise it)

Bookings are now being taken for the Carp Society Junior Carp Camp, held at Horseshoe Lake, Gloucestershire, on 30st May 2007 to 2nd June, 2007.
