Recent Catch Reports:

Celtic Lakes continues to produce some truly excellent catches. Some of the recent reports received here at Celtic Lakes Resort include:

1. Mark Henness - 7th August 2007

Summary:
As I didn’t fish the Monday night match I was allowed out with the “old Man” for a re-visit of Celtic Lakes Resort near Lampeter. You may remember that when we last fished there, I only caught one bream and we were kindly given a “free” ticket to return when the weather improved … well today was our day.

On arriving at 9.30am we set up in Lake five by the car park to fish both our favourite method of Paste. Dad sorry “old man” has his hard black swim stim, so he can cast it, with rod and reel, me with the pole and green swim stim paste a little softer. Within the first few minutes we were both into the carp, me close in by some lilies and Dad further out. To cut a days fishing short the old man had about 50 carp to 7lb and the odd bream to about 2lb. I had 40 bream to 2lb and about 50 carp to 8lb. We ran out of time and paste so called it a day at 5pm.

We met up with John, the owner, for a chat and thanked him for a great days fishing. It is amazing the changes that have happened since our last visit, some by nature and lots by the hard work of John and his team. I have never seen so much money and effort spent on a fishery which WILL i am sure become the best in Wales if not the UK. Here is a man who has invested HIS money for your pleasure, just this year £35k in carp for just Lake five, plus insane amounts for just one cat fish. The one thing that will make me come back again and again is the quality of the fish, apart from being scale perfect , every one was a virgin, with absolutely NO mouth damage what so ever!

Notable Fish:
The old man had about 50 carp to 7lb and the odd bream to about 2lb. I had 40 bream to 2lb and about 50 carp to 8lb.

Tactics and bait:
swim stim paste
