Plenty of Carp from Bury Hill Fisheries
On what has been the wettest June on record, the fishing has been remarkably good this week despite non stop rain. Heading up the action was the Old Lake which has thrown up dozens of multi bags with anglers catching up to 27 fish per session which included fish to upper twenties. However the big action came off Temple which produced a 10 fish haul along with plenty of twenties.
Angler’s Mail carp columnist Colin Davidson enjoyed an action packed session at Old Bury Hill’s Temple lake during a recent live session for the weekly magazine. But despite a great haul of Temple’s pedigree English carp it was Colin’s bride to be, Vanessa who stole the show with the biggest fish of the trip, the immaculate Temple Ghost at a personal best 30 lb 8 oz.
Ness 27 said “The night before we were talking about the looks and behaviour of ghost carp compared to other fish, and the appeal of caching them. The Ghost was not only the best fish I could have caught from Temple but it is a new personal best which makes it extra special”. ‘I’m sure most most people will never catch or see a ghost carp that big. It fought incredibly hard and is a really pretty fish.’
All the carp fell to Baitworks Atlantic Heat boilies fished from peg 12 during a three day stint. For an in depth 4 page account of the session look out for July 17 issue of Angler’s Mail.
