Fishing In A Wintons Wonderland
We kick off with tench rather than carp , but certainly a noteworthy haul. Northern angler, Jeff Edisbury travelled down to fish Kingfisher Lake, at Wintons and was rewarded, after changing tactics after a few blank day, with four tench for a massive 39lb 1oz.. Individually they weighed 10lb 13oz, 9lb 13oz, 9lb 5oz and 9lb 2oz. The tench fell to hair rigged halibut pellets wrapped in paste.
Other notable catches from the Surrey fishery included personal best common carp of 40lb 2oz, a PB mirror carp of 36lb 14oz, a common of 30lb 8oz and a 29lb koi carp for Len Anscombe of Catsfield.
Kevin Oliver, from Sidley in East Sussex took a PB best common carp of 39lb 10oz.
John Way, from Bexhill, bagged up with around 30 carp including a mirror carp 27lb 10oz and common carp 24lb 9oz. The smallest carp of his massive haul was 9lb.
