Following a couple of slower weeks, catches have improved this week with another thirty reported off Temple and quite a few twenties. Simon Roberts was the lucky angler to bag a Temple thirty, a very pretty common weighing 30lb 9oz. Simon fished peg 1 catching his fish on an 18mm Icelandic boilie which he fished to the island margins, Simon also caught two smaller commons both weighing early twenties. Matt Hubbard also did well catching 4 fish during his 24 hour stay, 3 mirrors and a common weighing 27lb 5oz, 26lb 10oz, 25lb 9oz and 21lb 13oz. Matt fished a Mainline Pro-Active Pineapple boilie to the island margins. Ed Mason also had a good midweek session on Temple catching a 26lb 2oz common, Ed fished a chopped down KG1 14mm boilie over 20 loose offerings to showing fish close to
island margins.
The Old Lake also saw some big improvements in the fishing this week with a number of big twenties reported to 28lb and quite few big multi bags with two pals sharing a huge 43 fish haul for close to 600lb. Gerry Holmes from Harrow, Middx caught 20+ carp just failing to break through the magic 20lb barrier with fish to 19lb whilst his fishing pal, Ron Ellis bagged 23 fish which included 2 low twenties. Both anglers fished homemade boilies over a bed of hemp, which they fished close to the island from pegs 75 and 74.
